This just in! Save the date for the all new Wedding Trends 2012!. The 6th Annual Wedding Trends will be happen April 18th at the magnificent Corinthian. Wedding Trends originated in 2006 as a regularly scheduled monthly program idea for the Houston chapter of the National Association of Catering Executives (NACE). The program’s intention was to offer latest trends in the Houston Wedding market with regards to themes, food and entertainment. Details change daily so check back to this website.
The student org fair was amazing this year! The theme was about Nace Conference 2012 in NOLA! To read more about it go to our blog.

The guest speaker for our February meeting is Dr. Juan M. Madera. He has a PhD from Rice University. Dr. Madera has expertise in diversity and discrimination in the workplace, employment interview and selection issues, training and development, and research methodology. He is the author of more than 10 peer-reviewed journal articles, trade articles and book chapters; recipient of a Ford Foundation Diversity Fellowship; recipient of the Gardner Award for the best dissertation in social sciences at Rice University; taught various psychology courses at Rice University before joining Hilton College in July 2008; applied experience in human resource management, including consulting for NASA-Johnson Space Center; recipient of New Faculty Grants and Small Grants Program at UH. Currently the Human Resources professor and the Conrad N. Hilton College of the University of Houston. This meeting is being presented by the Houston student chapter. Also, once again the Houston Chapter of Nace is sponsoring students. You can include your sponsorship of $50.00 when you register for the February meeting. And the votes are in. Only NACE Members may be nominated or submit nominations. Votes were cast in person at the November meeting. Congratulations to all winners.
"The Kudos Award" went to Vera Cantrell.
"The Can't Live Without You" went to Greg Dugat.
"The Synergy Award" was awarded to Elegant Beginnings, Bright Star Productions, and MDI Video for the Foreman wedding.
"The Networker of the Year Award" went to Kryastal Peay.
"The Hopkins Cougar Advocate Award" went to Adam Rineer, CPCE, CMP.
"The Student Member of the Year Award" went to TaKyra Banks.
"The Rising Star Award" went to Cherie Fontenot.
"The Spirit of Nace Award" went to Carita Felbermayr.
There were two recipients of "The Baumann/Reinheardt Award". The winners were Jill Vidal, and Jeremie Millwee, CPCE.
